Planning status
Following the regional planning assessment in winter 2022, OGE submitted the documents for the planning approval process to the competent district government in Münster in August 2023. Earlier that year, OGE had entered into an event-based dialogue with interested local citizens to share further information about the construction project and answer questions.
On 14 March 2025, the planning approval decision, which is equivalent to a building permit, was issued, and construction work on the Heek – Epe (HEp) hydrogen pipeline has now officially begun.
